XP_MTL at the Santa Claus Parade

Everyone is invited to the annual celebration that highlights the beauty of the holiday atmosphere.

Join XP_MTL for the arrival of the holiday season!

Everyone is invited to the annual celebration that highlights the beauty of the holiday atmosphere. On Saturday, November 23, urbanity, cinnamon and modernity will meet tradition while XP_MTL opens the Santa Claus Parade. XP_MTL will present a surprisingly themed and refreshingly modern float which features Montréal’s local talent. Leading the parade, the electric XP_MTL float will be accompanied in music by the Urban Science Brass Band, and in dance by dance troupe FE-MA-LE ENERGY, selected during the Auditions_XP last October.

This is the must-see holiday event!

The Santa Claus Parade is presented by Destination centre-ville. For more informations, visit the website of the event.

About the artists :

Urban Science Brass Band reinvented the classics of hip-hop, either to be surprised or for surprises, during their performances (that’s why they are the hosts of the unique Montreal Hip-Hop Parade, an annual secret event that invades and surprises the public every time). It’s a new genre – their repertoire changing from Dr. Dre to Kendrick Lamar – with fanfare! This is crowned with the tastes of New Orleans : trumpets, saxophones, trombones, tubas… everything will be there to amaze you!

Fe-ma-le Energy is a group of seven young dancers from various disciplines of hip hop culture. Through the spirit of sisterhood, they seek to break the stigma around the black woman and her expression, passing too often under silence and being very often misrepresented. It is therefore a brilliant « 100% Black Girl Magic »!

Pauline Gervais, graduating from the 2005-2017 cohort of the Quebec Superior Ballet School, works with Ballet Ouest of Montreal, Johanne Madore, Art ‘Mouv and Anne Dryburgh. She also collaborated with visual artist Herman Kolgen on two visual installations, Retina presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art and CoHabitation presented at the Grand Théâtre de Québec. She founded her company Pauline Berndsen Danse, with which she participated in the Festival Quartiers Danses – winner of the « Discovery on Stage 2017 » prize.

Yannick Moisan is a versatile young dancer. He already has a good experience of the professional scene. Indeed, Yannick is a dancer on the TV shows En direct de l’univers, Les dieux de la danse et La voix. He has performed at major shows such as La Fête Nationale, The F1 Gala, Le Gala Célébration and the musical comedy Fame. Yannick was also on the Révolution TV show with his team Young Prodigy Crew. During the holidays, you can find him in the musical comedy Mamma Mia at the Saint-Denis theater.

Ève-Marie Mathieu made her dance beginnings with jig and folk dance. Subsequently, she trained in various styles such as Hip-Hop, musical comedy, jazz and ballet. After several years in the competition troops of the Studio Part Time, she continues in a professional training in contemporary dance within the Danse-Interprétation Program, Technical DEC of the Quebec Dance School. Her professional career has led her to work on several projects such as ComédieHa, L’Oréal Canada, Montreal Casino, Saint-Sauveur Arts Festivals, etc.

Lakesshia Pierre-Colon a hip-hop artist at first. She was trained by hip-hop dance mentors in Montreal (Angelo Ameur, Cindy Goldylocks, Spicey Alexandra Landé, Marvin – Marvelous Marve House). She has also been part of 24k Or Pur Company for 6 years. Lakeeshia has participated in many dance events such as the Just for Laughs Festival, Loto-Québec, the Francofolies de Montréal, the Festival Vue sur la relève, 100lux at the place des arts, the choreographer’s ball in Toronto and Blaze the stage in United-States. She has also won several street dance fights in Canada and the United States. In 2018, we found her in the first season of ABDC in Montreal where she was part of the TOP 6 of the dance group Pur Team.
